I first learned to knit in 1968. A friend in college was knitting a scarf for a trip to Lake Tahoe and I was intrigued. She showed me how and I immediately knit a brown and white striped scarf for my boyfriend. It took forever! I decided I’d rather stick to needlepoint and didn’t knit anything else.
Fast forward to 2001. A co-worker asked if I knew how to knit because she wanted to knit a scarf for herself. I did a stash-dive and found my old knitting needles, got some yarn, and refreshed my memory. I taught her how to knit and knit a scarf for myself.
By this point, I had learned a little patience (cross stitch will do that!). I started knitting afghans and scarves, many as gifts. Unfortunately, I didn’t start taking photos of my knitting until 2006. I only have a couple of incidental photos, like this one:
